Career Fairs

I am looking for information from any Virginia clerk who has participated in a Career Fair at a local high school.  I have been invited and really do not know what to expect.

Hi Roxanne,

Unfortunately, I have not had the privilege of participating in a career
fair. I would think it would be the same as the job fairs which have been
held in the City of Roanoke.

In this instance, I speak about what the role of the City Clerk is and some
of my duties and responsibilities.

I have attached the “What We do” booklet that our City Clerk, Mabel Washington Jenkins created. She also suggested printing the history of clerk page from IIMC.

I attended a career fair about 4 yrs. ago.  You will need to set up your booth.  Have literature on governmental affairs, maybe job description of what you do and others in your department or organization.  Be ready to answer questions about your job and other positions within your municipality.
