Can't open vmail on Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit

Hi I have installed vmail, but when trying to open it shows

$ vmail

What could be wrong?

I got nearly the same error. The solution for me was to put "quotes" in my .vmailrc file.

username: "us...@gmail.com"
password:
name: "Your Name"
signature:
