We discovered this morning on FB that long time verger Terrance Hughes has died from the coronavirus. He had a long and involved association with the VGEC, and hosted the 26th VGEC gathering in Burlington, Ontario, Canada in 2014. Rest eternal grant to Terrance. May he rest in peace, and rise in glory!

I am so sorry to hear of this.  Terrance was a class act all the way and a generous and dedicated supporter of the VGEC.  He was a super host a few years back in Burlington, Ontario and I know he will be missed and mourned by many.  Rest in peace and rise in glory Terrance.

I hope everyone stays well and safe.

Just prayed in the congregational prayer digital gathering of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine:

Almighty God, our Father in heaven, before whom live all
who die in the Lord: Receive our brother Terrance into the courts of
your heavenly dwelling place. Let his heart and soul now ring
out in joy to you, O Lord, the living God, and the God of
those who live. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A significant loss to our community. Terry's heart was as "big as Dallas" as we say down here.

EDIT: As we found out later in the day, the cause of death was due to a medical condition - not the coronavirus. Still, due to the lock-down, his final hours were not surrounded by his family - what a sad place the world is in. Sorry for the confusion caused by the initial announcement.
