Hello, Does anyone try cross-mapping between RINGGOLD and GRID ID? I think ISNI could be a key to map them but haven't tried yet. Any advice or suggestion?
Thanks!

Hi DJ,

I’ve done some mapping between Ringgold and GRID ID. For some reason ORCID uses Ringgold IDs as the unique ID for organizations in their database. It would be so much better for us if they included ISNIs or GRIDs since I can freely look those up, whereas Ringgold only allows you to look up 15 or so IDs for free per day. The service isn’t even working for me right now. Unfortunately I don’t think I can share the work I’ve done since I’m sure it’s against the Ringgold terms of use.

If your institution has a Ringgold subscription you might be able to map using ISNI… GRIDs have been mapped to ISNI and are available in json and RDF at https://github.com/OpenVIVO/grid-rdf.

Hi,

The ORCiD agreement to use Ringgold IDs dates back to 2013, before the availability of GRID data.
