Dear All,
The VIVO Leadership Group met on January 22, 2025 for its first meeting of the year and decided to start sharing updates, news and information with the VIVO Global community more often.
The first step was to release the new VIVO Website at the beginning of this Fiscal Term (July 2024), with the idea of revamping also the use of the VIVO Registry; then in August VIVO launched the Strategic Subcommittee to address challenges the VIVO Community was facing and to define a stronger future for VIVO; in November 2024 the new VIVO Annual Report was released and finally a new section of the VIVO website came to live, gathering all the news worth sharing with our Global Community: https://vivoweb.org/news/ (VIVO news can also be followed on Mastodon via @ne...@vivoweb.org).
This Monthly Newsletter is the latest step of the VIVO Governance’s new communication strategy. After a few months of silence, it’s now time to reach out to all of you and share what is happening within the VIVO world on a regular basis. Keeping an open-source technology running and up to date in order to respond to evolving needs and requirements worldwide it’s not an easy task. What makes it great is that we can do it all together!
What has happened in January:
1. Monthly Leadership Group Meeting
The Leadership Group meets every month to discuss the major tasks of the VIVO community. The minutes are always publicly available because we believe in transparency. If you want to know what was discussed in detail, take a look at the latest minutes.

5. Development Fund and Roadmap
At the end of 2024 VIVO Leadership approved a new development roadmap for VIVO and the launch of a new development fund campaign to accelerate the work. While membership is still the best way to ensure VIVO’s long-term sustainability, contributions to the development fund are an alternative path to contributing to its success. See the website for more information.
6. Upcoming Events
EFS International Forum: Scheduled for March 16-18, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. VIVO aims to submit a panel session titled "VIVO – the base to RIM/CRIS/EFS innovation". Sponsorship opportunities are under discussion.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued engagement!
