As you likely know, this past year has seen a significant effort focused on creating a more fully internationalized (i18n) VIVO application.
The new and updated feature set includes:
- Support for languages: de_DE, en_CA, en_US, es, fr_CA, and pt_BR
- Elements of VIVO that are editable now include a language context
- Both static text on site pages as well as institutional data toggle based on language selection
- Ingested data with language tags is displayed appropriately based on language selection
We plan on publishing a beta release of the i18n functionality in February of 2021.
In order to ensure that VIVO's new and existing functionality performs as expected for both upgrading installations, new installations, and installations that do and do not employ the i18n features, it is important that the community comes together to test the beta release.
** Please reserve some time on your February calendars to participate in testing the i18n beta release. **
In advance of the testing period, we will be posting further details about the i18n features and testing guidelines.
Regards,
Andrew
