AI and Ontology-Based Knowledge Architecture
CINECA presented its AI-related developments using linked data and ontologies. Highlights included integration with UNIFIND (their VIVO Module) data and internal
AI projects, showcasing a highly interconnected and machine-readable knowledge base ideal for future applications.
Membership and Leadership Updates
A proposal to extend leadership roles to Bronze-level members in good standing has been discussed, considering the lower renewal year. A motion to grant 1-year Leadership
Group extensions for eligible Bronze members was raised and seconded, with a vote scheduled for the next meeting.
Wiki Cleanup and Ownership
The Leadership Group discussed maintaining a well-curated VIVO wiki. Admin rights were reassigned to members who will begin archiving outdated content and reviewing
existing privileges to improve structure and clarity.
Exploring Future Funding and Tools
A discussion on potential funders like Arcadia Fund was initiated, focusing
on projects aligned with Open Access and Open Science. Ideas also surfaced around
future service tools, grant proposal support and building open source community infrastructure.
Ontology Updates
There is ongoing work on the improvement of the representation of scientific instruments in the VIVO Ontology. Some changes to this part of the ontology are in preparation,
but these modifications will not affect the next VIVO release 1.16.
