Texas A&M announces Scholars@TAMU

From Texas A&M VIVO Team:

VIVO Community,

We are excited to announce the release of Scholars@TAMU, a researcher profile system developed around VIVO.  Our system integrated VIVO with our DSpace repository, ,https://www.altmetric.com/Altmetric.com, and Symplectic Elements, which we use to harvest faculty publications.  We use our own SQL database to organize data for faculty profiles and push this data to the VIVO triple store.  We also use a home grown editor/new pub messaging system for faculty to update data for their profiles.

Below is the email announcement that went out to faculty today.

We wanted to thank everyone in the VIVO community for all the help and advice we got over the years.  We look forward to continued collaboration with everyone.

Scholars@TAMU provides faculty control over the quality and completeness of their data through easy editing features. Faculty profiles in Scholars@TAMU can be customized to represent the unique nature of Texas A&M faculty work.

Explore the impact of your scholarship

Scholars@TAMU provides faculty access to both traditional and alternative metrics to explore their scholarly impact and reputation, as well as their societal impact.

The University Libraries completed the first phase of the Scholars@TAMU project that was focused on developing a system that can represent the range of scholarly and creative work being done at Texas A&M and building faculty profiles for TAMU-College Station and the Health Science Center. In phase 2 of the project, we will continue to add other data to existing profiles, complete missing profiles, add new features to Scholars@TAMU, and provide outreach and training to the university community.
