Mangal Pandey, the man who laid the foundation for the India's first war of Independence, referred as Sepoy Mutiny. Sepoy Mutiny was the first general widespread uprising against the rule of the British. Pandey was a Sepoy who rose against the British rule and attacked his British officers, revolted against the greased cartridges being used by the British forces and played a pivotal role in the Barrack pore Unrest. Due to his rebelliousness he was hanged till death.
