Is it possible to play an album or artist straight through?

First off...  I love vitunes!  I’d love to see where this software goes and I’m using it actively on a daily basis.

Is there any way to play an album, artist or genre straight through?  I see in the docs that I need to copy the items I want to play into a playlist if I want this functionality, but that seems rather round about.  Is there a limitation in iTunes that forces this behavior?  Is there an issue tracking this ‘feature’ (I looked but didn’t see one).  I will happily create one if you like.

Glad to hear that you like using vitunes.

Yes, there is a reason you have to make a playlist to play songs in
succession. The Apple Cocoa API for iTunes (which vitunes uses) doesn't
let you play continuously through an artist, only playlists.

One possible way around this would be to make a vitunes command that
lets you create a temporary playlist from all the tracks you see or a
selection & puts you straight in there & starts playing the 1st track.
