Cant connect to syslog: Unix Syslog error

I'm trying to set up Vitess on Docker on Mac using the Docker build instructions given here - https://github.com/vitessio/vitess/blob/master/doc/GettingStarted.md#start-a-vitess-cluster

However I get errors while starting zookeeper. I ignored them and ran the script for vtctld but the link generated was not an accessible server. I have attached the screenshots of the output and problem. Please let me know what the possible solution can be!

The syslog error can still be ignored. See if you can reach that hostname directly. Maybe the dns doesn't resolve that name to an IP.
