Hi peeps,
I have a few questions on how to download a webpage.
I want to download the following website http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Startseite
and only what is in the domain. Any links refering to other sites
shouldn't be downloaded.
I started visual wget which downloaded me the website pages without
the ".html" extention and it takes a very long time to complete, which
in the end effect provocated an exception which i reported as a bug.

Hi badbyte,

I have read the manual, and Wget default behavior is not to follow
link to other site.
If you do not use the span host option then you should be fine.

If you use the recursive option, the default recursive level is 5.
Which that 5 level depth, it could take a long time to download.
You can experiment with smaller depth first, and if it is ok then try
larger depth.

When you experiment, you can see if wget download non-necessary things
or not.
If it does, you can exclude it from your download by using available
option like exclude-domain...

Best Regards,
Khomsan

I looked around a little and started to experiment. I found out that visuawget downloads the pages of a website locally, but when i click on a link of which I'm sure that it's content downloaded, it connects to the internet to the page of the net.

Hi Tarek,

Please try --convert-links and --backup-converted options.
You can see wget man page for more details on these options.

--convert-links was already set, I put a check now on the --backup-converted
