VISUALS AGM Minutes, financial report, membership

Hi VISUALS Members,

Last week was our AGM which was very efficient and great to accomplish. (see attached docs) It is exciting to get started on this new year...which means your 2012 membership is due. Thanks to those that have already paid for this season. We ended that night with a sweet little social and chatted ‘ART’ over lots of great savories & sweets & drinks.  

Thanks for voting me in as new (past, past) president and to all of the fantastic directors for stepping up!

Vice President:  Fran Solar is my right hand (wo)man.

Secretary:  Sanaz Busink already rocks at this.

Treasurer:  Freda Hoff is all over balancing the books $$.

Memberships and committees coordinator:  Linda Bachman is her downtown art hub, perfect for this & managing the Adventure Centre displays.

Website and Newsletter:  Zoe Evamy is currently, creatively working on all of this!

            But we still need help with graphics and videography, publicity and promotions, as well as assistance with all of our activities.

 

The following are key dates to note for some of our upcoming 2012 VISUALS Events :

• May - Membership renewal now due $25 at the Portico Gallery. Contact Linda. NEW MEMBERS WELCOME!
• June 24 – Art in the ‘Garden Tour’. Contact Zoe.
• July 1st Canada Celebrations ART in the Park. Contact Toby.
• September ArtWalk, dates to be determined, around 3rd weekend. Contact Sanaz.
• November 6 – Dec 3   FOYER Gallery Group Show, ‘Home for the Holidays’, various media    Opening Reception: November 8^th , 6:00 – 8:00pm. Contact Toby.

If you are interested in showing your art, learning from others, performing or organizing demos, teaching classes, getting together and having fun then join in. Please read the minutes for more details and we will be issuing calls for artists in the up-coming weeks. Next meeting/critique night date mid June date t.b.d.

Contact anyone on the board if you have some great art ideas that you want to discuss.

Sorry I missed the meeting on Wednesday.  It looks like Visuals has another exciting year ahead of them!  Thank you Toby for being our creative and fearless leader!

 

Zoe:  Count me in for the garden tour.  I loved being a part of it last year.  Holler if you need any help organizing it.

 

Sanaz:  Count me in for the ArtWalk too!  I am away from Sept 1 – 16 but I can help you with organizing the event.  Feel free to contact me directly when you have a plan/meeting for ArtWalk volunteers.

 

SAC AGM:  I will be becoming of member of SAC this year.  I am not sure how many of their meetings I can attend or even if they have members meetings other than their AGM, but hopefully I can help facilitate a better relationship between Visuals and SAC.

Hi Toby, 

Thanks for taking on the top job! I am still away and also for all of June. Please put me down for the Art Walk. I will help where I can. 

HSPAA and the Squamish Photo Club are producing a concert with pianist Sarah Hagen with photography to accompany the music. The date is Sept. 22. Maybe some cross pollination and advertising can benefit Visuals and our groups. I am in charge of the event with Doug Hackett and Petra Walter of the Photo club co producing. We will also have a month long art show at SAM (Squamish Music Academy) following the event.

Let me know if you think of anything.

I regret that I have missed this meeting even after Linda told me about it, twice :(  Thanks for the minutes.  I would like to help with graphics and promo.  I have 2 months off in summer and would love to get involved more.
