I make extensive use of various Google services to track topics of
interest. One relatively new service is the Google News Time line.
This is in no way a technology roadmap, but it is an automated way of
presenting a large amount of information as a time line.
The link below should take you to a timeline view of "technology
roadmap" in the news. If the link doesn't work go to
http://newstimeline.googlelabs.com/ and try search terms of your
choice.
Regards
Paul

could you give me some reference to this illumini search service ?
Google search on "illumine + search" does not bring me further, perhaps
preventing competition ? ;)

thanks for the info & link
NB. and likewise to Rob for his series of visiual tools & presentations.
Earlier I had used the term timeline + subject in Google searches in order
to get similar but indirect time ordering of the subject appearance.
This news timeline is however rather much connected to the Time Magazine
(indirect advertisement ?)
