[Visual-C-Lovers] Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Alternative?

Hi,

I'm searching for an alternative to the Visual C++ 2008
redistributable and avoid those annoying side by side errors. I need
to deploy an application without any installation, just run from an
unzipped folder that contains all the required dlls. This was fine and
easy in pre-2008, but things have changed it would seem. Now I get
these side by side errors. I know the simplest solution is just
statically link all the required libs, but I'd rather not. Any ideas
would be most appreciated.
