I have a new HP Envy with A10 running Win 8 that uses uefi to manage booting. I'm not familiar with this process but I assume that it functions like the old Bios boot process. I was using Win 7 before on a bios based laptop and had no problem booting to VHD Windows Server 2012 and Win 7 Ultimate. Now when I add the VHD's to the boot menu they appear as options on the boot screen but when I select either one the screen goes blank for a about 10 seconds and then returns back to the boot menu w/o any errors being displayed. These VHD's have not been altered since I used them on my Win 7 bios-boot laptop. What am I missing? I read that Win 7 Ult and Windows Server 2012 support VHD booting (into) and uefi. Do I need to manually alter the bcd table to point at a different boot file in the Windows directory and if so, where is it? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Loader path for UEFI must contain winload.efi instead of winload.exe (for BIOS).
To change path:
1. select loader by clicking in left pane
2. dbl click ApplicationPath in right pane, edit and confirm.
