Stick with Google groups or move to Yahoo groups?

Hello all,

Because of limitations with USGS gmail accounts I've looked into switching our group to Yahoo.  Everyone would need to either have or set up a Yahoo account to join that group.  I don't think this is any better than the USGS folks using their personal Gmail accounts or setting up a new (non-BISON) work/professional one.  

My preference is to just stick with the current Google groups format and have the USGS folks who need to administer or post replies use or set up a separate account.

I would prefer to stick with Google Groups, based on current experience with another Yahoo group. Yahoo (probably as a security measure) will automatically log you out after a period of time.It is a hassle to maneuver through Yahoo, if you're posting/replying from the website rather than your email. Something else I remember is that you can't make Yahoo groups an open group, because some people will join just to post ads/spam. I don't know the particulars of Google vs Yahoo group administration, but I have a feeling that it's easier to handle spam in Google groups.
