Hello Bill,
I can't speak to DOI policy but, unfortunately, the standalone MaxEnt software is written in Java and likely requires a Java runtime environment to operate. Fore more technical questions about the compatibility of MaxEnt and Corretto, I would suggest posting on the
MaxEnt Google Group.
The most direct solution appears to be an exemption request. Outside of that, there is an R-based implementation of MaxEnt (
maxnet) that was created by Steven Phillips (one of the original MaxEnt authors) and it shouldn't require Java to run.
On a related note, I'm currently maintaining SAHM and changes like this are great to know. I've been toying with the idea of switching from a Java-based to an R-based MaxEnt implementation for a future release. After looking at the link for maxnet, let me know what you think!
