Can someone please describe what this "mini_installer" is supposed to accomplish? Can it prevent me from having to go through the trouble of making my own InnoSetup installer for my fork of Chromium?
mini_installer will extract those two files to a temporary directory and then execute setup.exe. For instance if mini_installer.exe was executed with --system-level argument, it will pass those arguments to setup.exe:
To clarify, he specifically told me to do it without the source code of the program all i have to work with is the programs actual installer (which is not even .msi) the .CAB file of the program and a file folder where he keeps some support files for the actual installation method.
Your old setup is PDW based and should have a Setup.lst file which lists all the files, where and how to install them. This can easily converted to an Inno Setup script that provides a much nice and more up to date "installation experiance" than the PDW can natively.
I carry Brave with me on a flash drive to install at customer sites. This is not the actual file, but and installer stub. Yesterday, I had to wait in embarrassment as a slow Internet connection took forever to install Brave. It made me look stupid.
@ToddAndMargo,
You can find all available Brave binaries on our Github Repository:

Every time I try to install the base (before patches) game of BnS the install completes almost instantly, and the BnS folder ends up only being 92MB. I have heard it is supposed to be over 20 Gigs before patching. I have no idea why the game won't install properly, I have disabled antivirus and firewall to no avail. I heard that I can't have any version of BnS previously installed on my computer. I used to have a version of BnS CN but it has long since been deleted. My friend is going to upload his entire BnS folder for me to download, but we're not really sure if that is actually going to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That doesn't sound right to me at all. Running the BnS Lite installer does bring up the installation process for the actual game, but it only installs 92MB into the NC SOFT --> BnS Folder. When I click the BnS icon on my desktop I get to the login screen, but then nothing happens when I put in my information, the login screen just closes. The Lite installer should be installing the whole game into the BnS folder, but for some reason it will only install 92.9MB every time, I have tried to reinstall multiple times. It's worth noting that the first time I run the BnS Lite Installer it asks if I want to remove all contents, and then I have to run it a second time in order for it to ask for my language, an install location, etc.
Fixed it. Just needed to change the compatibility to windows 7 on the BnS shortcut. I really want to kill my friend for telling me that the BnS Lite Installer was supposed to install the whole game. -_-
I have the same problem, nothing happens after the login codes screen, just closes when i press login.
supposedly the eula should be popping up to continue install but nothing..
windows 7 and applied compatibility to windows 7 on the BnS shortcut
Like the title says, my installer file is a .zip folder and opens up winrar when I click it. I've watch some tutorial videos, and when they click the file (which has the same title as mine) it opens up the installer.
I would like to create an installer (MSI or exe) for sale.
I have referred to the Yak page but do not want to push it to Server.
I am fine with Yak as long as I can combine the .rui and .rhp files into one.
The current plugin configuration looks like this.

You don't have to create the "Updater.ini" file as the setup program uses for the update purpose the file "Uninstall.ini", which is created during the installation.
Just make sure that the option "Include Uninstaller" is selected on the page "Installation \ Uninstallation".
When using the feature "Automatically Check for Updates (on Windows startup, Daily, Weekly, Monthly)" you don't need to initialize this feature (using the switch /Init). All necessary actions will be done automatically during the installation of your app.

What i want is simple: i just want to download the installer of Makgic Maker EDM Edition, not the downloader of the installer or a torrent of same file, i want the actual installer of Magic Maker EDM Edition. The downloader of the installer doesnt works on my laptop.
However, of more concern is the fact that you say the Download Installer doesn't work on your laptop. Can you give us more details about exactly what happens when you attempt to run the program? Also, please tell us a lot more about your actual computer (hardware) and operating system. With this additional information we may have some suggestions to help you installing the program.
I recently purchased download version of Vegas Pro 15, VEGAS DVD Architect, NewBlue FX Filters 5 Ultimate,
HitFilm Movie Essentials, and Music Maker. I have Serial Numbers for all programs except Music Maker. How do I find the SN for Music Maker?
This thread is about problems with the Magix Download Installer. Unfortunately, your post is about a completely different problem, the apparent lack of a serial number for your installation of Music Maker.
(Keep in mind that, with the new Music Maker concept, the base installer for any edition you buy is the same, and will accept the serial number you received. Don't get confused by the fact that it says "free" in the URL.)
Please note that the link above might expire and become dysfunctional at any point in time when the Music Maker installer is updated on the server. The official download manager URL you received will always stay the same, and will always provide you with the most recent version of your product available on the server. So, these are the reasons why you should prefer to use the download manager (unless technical issues prevent you from doing so).
If you actually want to troubleshoot the root cause of why the download manager doesn't seem to work correctly on your computer, that might be a bit more tricky. Possibly, it's being blocked in its online connectivity, which in turn might be a result of settings in the Internet Explorer API, which it is piggybacking on. You may need to manually adjust something in the Windows/IE Internet settings. Please go to the system's Control Panel and proceed to "Internet Options". Switch to the "Advanced" tab and find the "Security" section in the long list of checkboxes. Among other things you will find entries for the different Internet communication protocols here. Please check whether the options TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are ticked. If that is not the case, please enable/tick these options and confirm your settings. Now try again, and see whether the download manager can connect to our servers and download the installer now.
Beyond that, it might also be something specific to how you connect to the Internet locally (firewalls, proxies etc.), which would be a bit harder to troubleshoot from here. I'd suggest you simply use the direct link above in that case.
i was trying to get a hotfix to run in Safe mode that is supposed to fix the blue screen issue one of my users is having. i followed the steps in this guide ( starting windows installer in safemode ) to start the MSIServer installer service. but once i reboot after doing the regedit it does not start the service and running the installer still gives me the error that i cant run that service in safe mode. any ideas what might be causing that?
