Why is it some users have the toolbar at the top and some at the
bottom of the startmenu?
And is there a way to change the appearance of it?

Are you refering to the Flash demo? or the screenshot?
If you are, this is the older version, as they have not been updated
with the new version.
AFAIK, there is no way to change the toolbar.

No I've just installed it on my W200O machine and the toolbar [power
buttons] shows at the top.............while a friend who has XP says
the toolbar is at the bottom?

What version are you runninng?
The latest is 2.89

if You right-click on the title bar you may select mirror options.
