In addition to the usual presentations we have from the community and the VA,
I hope we will have those who would like to discuss their vision for VistA for
when (and hopefully if) the VA ceases to use VistA. At a minimum, there will
be software to maintain or replace like the Lexicon and the National Drug
File. It will be important for the community to figure out how to cope with
theses issues if VistA is to remain open source.
I have been inviting VA presenters to not only give updates but to consider
educating the community about how they do their jobs and their recommendations
to the community should the VA cease to use VistA.
There have been treats to VistA many time over its lifetime, but this time it
seems to be much more probable to be more than a threat.
