Hi,

I've created a new milestone for the next release. It would be good to
have it by mid-April (I'm in vacation after). Could you assign the
associated list of issues and PRs for this release? I would say:

* collection visuals
* user guide
* volume rendering example
* vispy.plot
* axes/ticks

Unless someone has a lot of free time in the next two weeks, this schedule may be too ambitious.

The deadline ;)

I think it's a good list for the next release.

I find predicting development timelines to be like predicting earthquakes.
More like June 1? That would give plenty of time to build new demos for the SciPy conferences. What do you-all think?

That's nearly one year without release... Maybe we could plan to
release a less ambitious version sooner?

Message from Nicolas:

What's new compared to release 0.3 ?
If there is a lot of new stuff, we can have a release by the end of
the week (Friday). And given the large amount of commits and closed
issues during the sprint, I think a lot of people would be interested
in having a more stable version quite soon.

And the list you proposed might be planned for release 0.5 by end of May.

I'm okay with either plan. If I had to choose, I'd vote for just pushing something out now since we probably should release soon, and I'm not sure how long it will take us to get plotting, axes, and collections as visuals.

Good question. In my mind it would be good to get axes implemented and working in plots before making a release. What do others think?

I proposed a mecanism to catalyse the release version of vispy. You can find it on the issue tracker where an empty milestone about v0.4 exist since a while... https://github.com/vispy/vispy/issues/903 There even exist a milestone for v0.5!

I suggest to close this thread and to continue this discussion directly on the issue tracker of the project.

What do you think of that?
