Odd behavior on Mac

I was just trying to show a colleague how to copy a Louvain cluster out of a large network, and display its graph in a new window. Steps:
  • attr mgr: nodes, select, louvain and click a cluster number
  • nodes: select incident links
  • edit: copy
  • create new window
  • edit: paste
And this works fine on Windows. When we tried to do it on Mac, the new network would contain only the nodes, not the links. We verified on attr mgr that there were no links. Tried it multiple times, risking Einstein's (supposed) definition of insanity.

Does this happen to anyone else running Mac?

Thanks...

Steve

Hi Steve,

I investigated this and I don’t think this is a Mac problem.
What accidentally broke is the „select incident links“ (and the „select neighbors“) menu item, not copy & paste.
And that should be the same for everyone running the most recent visone release, not just those on Mac. So I think you probably did your Windows experiment on an older visone version.

As a temporary workaround, I suggest to use the "filter" feature of the attribute manager. This feature allows you to do the same thing as the menu items as well, but also much more. I always use the filter feature, that's why I didn't notice that the menu items broke.

I drafted a fix and expect that there will be a minor new visone release by early November.

Best,
Julian
