a new version of visone - 2.6.5 - has been released today.
As always, if you use the webstart version, the new version will be
downloaded automatically at the next start.
We've collected the major changes here:
http://visone.info/html/changes.html#visone_265
Points of interest may be the new mapping to polar coordinates or the
two new clustering methods.
In addition, we fixed the problems concerning group nodes.
You will notice that we have a new "powered by yFiles"-Logo in the lower
left corner of the viewing window.
yFiles is an important library for visone, it is the part that actually
draws graphs and provides a number of other useful functionality.
Though yFiles is actually a commercial library, its vendow yWorks
(www.yworks.com) allows us to use and distribute it with visone without
any charge (neither for you nor for us).
Note, that this logo does not appear in exported graphics (such as pdf,
jpg) so graphics produced with visone can still be used in scientific
publications without any restrictions.
If you find that we didn't fix your favorite bug yet, or just remember
that one thing that always annoyed you and wonder why we still didn't
fix it, feel free to tell us!
To randomly insert another shameless advertisement: there will be a
visone tutorial at the next Sunbelt (http://www.insna.org/sunbelt/),
which starts at March, 12.
So if you want a hands on introduction, that would be a chance.
On a more important matter:
we hope you enjoy the new version,
your visone team
