to Visit Lithuania
Today was mostly about flooring. We did lots of it. Ben, Matt,
Joseph, Daniel, Jeb and myself all worked hard to get as far as we
could. Unfortunately we ran just a little short. So rather than
finish our side, we thought it best to let Aidas and Aurelias finish
theirs so they could move on to other things. Better to keep the
professionals moving. Joe, Holly, Nancy and Betty went and finished
up the mudding and sanding at the Pagalba Cetras. We tried to get
trash out to the curb today, but the gentlemen refused for reasons we
still do not understand. We think he was only taking dirt
today. ???
After some talking and decision making, we decided best to get started
on the main hall flooring in the community center. We know we will
not get it done before North Carolina arrives on Saturday afternoon,
but we will get them a very good start.
The Pagalba Centras has paint on it by the time we left after dinner
tonight. Yay! We had loads of fun watching the girls enjoy the new
floor in the room. As soon as we moved out they were in with a deck
of Uno cards. Just what we hoped would happen. We also had a visit
from the reporter again today. She took more pictures of us working.
She also got our names for the paper. She states it will be in print
in another week or two. Ben and I have asked her to email it to us.
She states it will be in Lithuanian, but we agreed that was just fine.
The girls, including Inga, joined us for dinner again. I will miss
their smiling faces at the dinner table, it is wondeful to see the joy
in their eyes as we all sit around and tell stories about the day.
With just over a day to go, it is still hard to believe we will not be
present to see the church finished. But I will be back. Lithuania
1000 year celebration is just 2 years away. Got a lot of work to do
on my language skills before then. This may be my last update until I
get back as Matt and I will be moving to the hotel in town. Not sure
about internet availability. If we do not get the chance to send
anything else, it has been a great time.
Iki Pasimatymo,
Broderick
