Submitting an application to the Knight News Challenge

Hi all,

I'll be submitting an application for this project to the Knight News
Challenge. A draft of the application, and a link to a suplemental

While the front page says 'news', the submission guidelines are:

1. Use digital open-source media
2. To distribute news and information
3. In a geographic determined community (local community)

which opens up the field quite a bit. Knight has made a special
effort to reach out to open government projects via the Sunlight
Foundation, and several other opengov projects have made submissions.
There's $5M in prizes available.
