Apologies for double-post SPAM)
I was at the GOSLING pub meetup in Ottawa on Friday, and had a very
interesting conversation. While the short term plan for this
VisibleGovernment.ca project is to use the information from the
Government of Canada’s Hospitality and Expense web pages, here:
http://www.ainc-inac.gc.ca/prodis/exprpts/qts-eng.asp, there may soon
be another data source.
People in the Treasury Board have been working on a generic system for
exposing data, which they are just now getting ready to release under
an open source liscense for community contribution. The goal of the
project, started four years ago (!), was to build a system that
implements the IMF's Code of Conduct for Fiscal Transparency.
Will post more information as I receive it.
