FYI: I'll be doing a presentation on the scraping system for the
Hospitality and Expense Visualizer at the next Montreal on Rails, this
Tuesday (tommorow).

The goal of the presentation is to drum up volunteers for a 'scraping
Saturday' code meetup.

Here are the slides I presented to about 30 people at yesterday's
Montreal on Rails. The slides show a rails app that walks volunteers
through creating and testing a scrubyt-based scraper for a
department.

I got quite a bit of positive feedback on the presentation, and I
think at least a few volunteers.

More details on:

- downloading and trying out the scraper-generator
- a Montreal code meetup for volunteers

to follow.

Great presentation, Jennifer. I've taken the liberty of forwarding it
to a few of my colleagues in the press gallery who have been noodling
with various Web scraping projects. Do you have details on the
Saturday meetup? (DId I miss them on the list somewhere?)

Thank you very much for the presentation, Jennifer. I really enjoyed
it.

Could you link us to the code, please? I can't find it at the moment
from the Projects page on your site.

Thanks!

Thanks for forwarding the project, David. No, you didn't miss the
meet-up announcement, I have to get confirmation on the room. I'll
post it by this Saturday, for sure.

François: the code for the scraper-maker isn't up yet. I want to test
it out on a few people to make sure it was easy to configure and use
before posting it.
