Hi everyone

Diwali is approaching and Vishwaas UNSW, Om USYD and Om Shanti UTS will be celebrating Diwali on Thursday 21st October @ Old Teachers Assembly Hall, USYD. The event will take place from 6pm - 9pm.

Diwali, or Deepavali, popularly known as the 'Festival of Lights', marks the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom of Ayodhya, after defeating the demon king Ravana (in the Ramayana). It is one of the most important festivals on the Hindu calendar, and signifies the victory of good over evil. The Hindu societies of UNSW, USYD and UTS are joining forces to bring to you, what promises to be an amazing night of Diwali celebrations, garba, dandiya, dancing and much more.

What: Diwali & Navarathri 2010
When: Thursday, October 21 from 6pm - 9pm
Where: Old Teachers Assembly Hall, University of Sydney
(For those travelling from UNSW, you can either catch the 370 or any bus that goes to Broadway and the campus is walking distance from Broadway shopping centre)
How much: $10 for members / $13 for non-members (INCLUDING DINNER!!!)

The following is the link to the facebook event. Invite your friends along as well.

For tickets, you can contact me on 0425311143.

Be sure not to miss out on this fun-filled evening. Hopefully you will have all completed your assessments by then (if not, be a good student and finish them early!), and get a chance to unwind before exams.

See you all there

Thanks
Shankar
