691 OM tiirtha-karaaya namaH .
tiirtha means vidyaa, a particular branch of knowledge or skill. The Lord is called so because He is the source of fourteen vidyaas sanctioned by the veda as also of vidyaas outside of it.
According to puraaNaa, in the early stages of the creative cycle the Lord took the form of hayagreeva and destroyed the two asuras, madhu and kaitabha. He then imparted all the vedas to brahmaa, and in order to deceive the asuras, who are enemies of the devas, imparted to them the vidyaas, that are outside of the vedas.
454 OM GYaanam-uttamaaya namaH .
That consciousness (GYaana) which is superior (uttama) to all, birthless, unlimited by time and space and the cause of all achievements.
Taittiriya Upanishad 2.1 says: 'satyam GYaanam anantam bhahma' -- brahmaan is Truth, Knowledge and Infinitude.
