JavaFX script

On the Oracle Site , there's a big tutorial on JavaFX Script:

However, it's my understanding that JavaFX is deprecated.

Is this tutorial just out of date? Am I correct in thinking JavaFX
Script is being replaced by Visage and there's no reason for a fresh
development effort to incorporate it?
