PTC does not make it easy to export a lot of files from Windchill. I have done it for about 30 assemblies which ranged in size from a hundred components to over 2000 components. It is not an easy task as even putting the top level drawing in your workspace, which is the only place to export from, does not always grab all related files. I had to do the download to workspace, then open the file in Creo to get all related files in the workspace for export.

Another good use to opening multiple files in CreoView would be to open several different versions of the same object to aid in comparison, or looking for when a particular change occurred. It would be nice if there was streamlined (an example of this could be something like "roll back to previous version" from within CreoView).

As a side note, (and please forgive me if I misuse terms here), what possibilities are there to access Windchill using VBA. My impression is that because there is no VBA API, my options for accessing data stored in windchill from Excel are limited.

I know I can export from Windchill under Actions/Export List to File/Export List to XLSX. This only exports any subfolder names and any files in that current directory. Is there a way to do a mass export to include the files in the subfolders without having to go into each individual folder and export the data from those folders??

In general, we supply files (native CAD and/or STEP/IGES, etc.) to outside parties as email attachments if small, or via Box or Drop Box or equiv if larger. There is interest in allowing outside parties to access these and download directly from Windchill - now discussing options, etc.

I am having PDMLink setup with multiple organization. It is very difficult to know under which organization we are currently. Is there any way to find under which organization the container(Product, Liberary, etc.) is created from the detail page of the container?

I have tried "Using custom reports from Windchill" Module from the Windchill Extension Guideto show the windchill reports in Thingworx environment. But i am facing the issue while testing the service as in the below screenshot. Please help me if anyone tried.

On tech support case C13184101 just now, I'm advised by PTC that one can load .xml files with values but that there is no way from PTC to work in Excel and convert to proper .xml. Does anyone have a way to convert a long list of values to xml and then load as the set of values of an enumerated attribute list?

I want to remove the product (do not want to delete the product from windchill) from the recently added (visited) list and Product icon. When i search for products and click on the specific product, that product can be seen under recently visited tab and under product option icon. i want to remove from that place. i want to search the product every time and click on that product link.

The Altium 365 Workspace connection to a supported PLM system can be established through an advanced semi-automated user interface, as detailed below, or by using a manual process based on editing PLM configuration XML files. The latter requires knowledge of the target PLM system data structures and familiarity with the XML format, while the updated system presented below automatically pulls in the required data from the PLM and Altium Workspace to populate menu choices in the interface.

The new OAuth Provider instance becomes available when the OAuth Connection option is enabled in a Windchill PLM configuration. Select from the OAuth Provider dropdown list where multiple providers are available. Complete the connection setup with the button and follow the provider's prompts if required.

Ultimately the configuration setup you define in the PLM Integration interface is stored as system XML files, which can be saved locally from the Export Configuration command associated with the Server Connection details at the top of the configuration page.

Modify an example XLM template as required and upload the file to your PLM configuration via the Add Publish Template window, opened from the button. Note that a PLM configuration supports multiple Publish Templates.

A useful command is xcopy /m src\* dest. this will copy all files from src to dest and clears the archive bit on all the src files. Whenever you touch a src file, Windows will automatically set the archive bit. Next time you run xcopy /m it will only copy the changed files.

Teams can share documents, manage PTC Creo CAD data, plan season events and activities using project management tools all in a secure environment, easily accessible from anywhere. PTC Windchill supports both PTC Creo 2.0 and 3.0, provides an optional Microsoft Office and Windows Explorer integration and provides PTC Creo View for viewing CAD files.

The conflict edit dialog offers to merge changes if it can find the original file of the renamed Bar.c. If there are multiple files that are possible move sources, then a button for each of these files is shown which allow you to chose the correct file.

Models can provide spatial and temporal information about airflow. Spatial information can be obtained through the interpolation of data from various measurement stations, allowing for horizontal data calculation. Alternatively, profiles, such as the logarithmic wind profile, can be utilized to derive vertical information.

I know this is old topic however I think I have something valuable to share.

@ikra, If You have problem with opening old WB project in newer ANSYS Workbech version it can be reason of bugs hidden in older archiviser, especially if material name have some special charters...

- first try open the model in version adequate to which it was created - if this fail
- try to import mechdat (or change name in mechdb to new project) Below its small script to WB console that can do this for multiple files using following scrtipt
- with some effort the script can be changed to do backward import using CDB format.
