There, I removed the extra 60xp on Arts (30 per year after apprenticeship) and therefore 2 years out of
apprenticeship.

That means Tiberius is now 27 with 2 years out of apprenticeship, can I have my item now? :-)

Also, not sure what you mean by "two sets of characteristics" since I only see one...

Yes. :)

What is the set in parenthesis? I thought this was an alternative set you were considering, but I guess I'm missing something...

I think the numbers in parenthesis are the build point costs...

Yes, the numbers in parenthesis are the costs, don't worry about them.

Well then, I have 4 seasons to work on my item, but there is the
problem of Vis.

What sort of item can it be, too? Can it be an Invested Item? Or
better stick with e Lesser Enchantment? If Lesser Enchantment can I
have 4, one for each season, since I'm losing a year anyway?

How much Vis should I assume I have available?

Can I apply Planetary Magic to it? How about the New Shape And
Materials found at TMRE?

Let me see if I have any other questions... Oh, if I am allowed an
Invested Item, can I attune it?

Thanks!

Yes on all counts. Basically, just produce the items as you would
under regular play.

Ah, that's a tough one. Your master wouldn't have been overly
generous. After all, you are HIS apprentice, so should be able to
squeeze a lot out of a pawn of raw vis! Any fool can make a magic item
with lots of vis, that isn't where the Art lies.

Still, you can't be expected to pull of miracles. Yet.

A proper magic item would be, say, of a level 30 spell. So this should
require 3 pawns of raw vis, 4 with investment. Out of the magninomity
of his heart, he will allow you fully *8* pawns of raw vis. Of any Art
combinations. Ooh, he is too generous, he knows. Don't spread the word
around!

If you require more, you can spend Seasons earning them - extract them
from the Aura (Aura level 5) or trade for them (produce something and
trade for equivalent Build Points).

Yes, to both.

Yes, by spending the time and so on - as in normal play.

How about material?

Can I have access to enough Silver to create a ring or a bracelet, for
example? How about Gold and Mercury? Brass? Iron?

You're a magus. Do not trouble yourself with such mundane matters.
You can you such stuff, yes.

Instead of a single Invested item with a 5th magnitude effect, I've
decided to focus on small, minor items that might come in handy in the
long run:

Scales of Weighting Vis
R: Touch, D: Mom, T: Ind
These scales allow for the weighting of magical vis.

Lab total: 31 (+2 Intelligence, +2 Intellego, +1 Vim, +4(5) Magic
Theory (items), +1 spell known, +5 Aura, +5+2 Craft: Metalwork
(puissant), +3 Scales (weighting goods), +2 Planetary Magic, +3
Inventive Genius)
Effect: Level 5 + 10 levels for unlimited use.
Cost: 1 Pawn of Vim Vis

Pendulum of Identifying the Essense
R: Touch, D: Mon, T: Ind
This silver pendulum and adjoined ten-sided tabled allow for the
identification of the nature of raw vis.

Lab total: 30 (+2 Intelligence, +2 Intellego, +1 Vim, +4(5) Magic
Theory (items), +1 spell known, +5 Aura, +5+2 Craft: Metalwork
(puissant), +2 Silver (intelego), +2 Planetary Magic, +3 Inventive
Genius)
Effect: Level 5 + 10 levels for unlimited use.
Cost: 1 Pawn of Vim Vis

Brooch of Authority
R: Touch, D: Sun, T: Ind
This brooch reproduces the effects of Aura of Ennobled Presence
constantly on it's wearer.

Lab total: 30 (+2 Intelligence, +2+3 Muto (puissant), +1 Imaginem,
+4(5) Magic Theory (items), +2 spell known, +5 Aura, +5+2 Craft:
Metalwork (puissant), +2 Planetary Magic, +3 Inventive Genius)
Effect: Aura of Ennobled Presence, +1 level for 2 uses a day, +3
levels for Sunset/Sunrise Environmental Trigger.
Cost: 1 Pawn of Imaginem Vis

And one more item to come!

I'm putting Tiberius through Metacreator. A few points:
* It seems your charectaristics costs add up to 0. They should add up to 7 - you've got points to spare.
* I THINK that you have 5 extra XP from your years.
* In addition, you should get Exposure in each season of lab activity (usually to Magic Theory), so your're due a few more XP.
* Not sure you can get both the Inventive Genius and the Known Spell to your lab totals. Seem kind of contradictory. I think only the known-spell should apply. I hope that won't ruin any of the items... ? I think the first 3 items are at risk, but perhaps you can change them/change the character or something.

I attach the files for your perusal. Let me know if I need to change anything. (Some things aren't implemented - I need to purchase the Mysteries package for Metacreator... again... don't ask...).

IMO, magic is an Art, finding one way to do something doesn't mean
there's no other. So given spell X, that doesn't mean a different
spell Y (different combination of words, gestures, and other
components) cannot exist having _exactly_ the same effect.

So at the least, Tiberius should be able to choose which bonus
applies.

Personally I would allow both bonuses: I think if you know spell X,
you can invent a different spell Y, having similar effects, and
benefit both from your inventive genius and from the experience/
mystakes/knowledge of your initial spell.

Sorry, it just doesn't seem right from a mechanical and conceptual point to me. I'm gonna insist on adding only one of them in this saga. I allow you to choose which one, but you can't have both.

That said, since it's a bit into the game if you want to not redo your magic items we can decide you were working in a +2 lab or something.

I talked to Yair and it's best to change the extra 5 xp I put in
Philosophiae into Speak Slavic, just to avoid confusion...
