Easter 2017

Dear Friend and Supporter of VOL,

It should be apparent to astute readers of VOL, that the Anglican Communion has devolved into two very distinct camps theologically and morally. We at VOL are the only source fully documenting what is happening on both sides of the Anglican Communion aisle.

There is the pansexual, progressive, revisionist western Anglican churches which believe that the Anglican Communion must adapt to the culture and embrace change wherever it is to be found. Then there is the Global South which believes the Church must be defined by the Formularies, the Articles of Religion and supremely Scripture, for which no theological accommodation can be made that undermines “the faith once for all delivered to the saints.”

Within the Global South there are two groups, both orthodox in faith and morals, but with different foci.

The first is GAFCON, those primates and bishops who believe the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Episcopal Church, The Anglican Church of Canada and the Church of England have strayed from Scripture on basic morality and embraced the culture. They refused to attend the last Lambeth conference, and there is every reason to believe they will not attend the next Lambeth Conference in 2020. They are a counter theological Church while saying they will never leave the Anglican Communion because they are the Communion.

The second group consists of orthodox Global South archbishops, who still retain a loyalty to Canterbury, but who sit uneasily with the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Church of England. Their loyalties are divided.

In Egypt recently, both Global South and GAFCON Anglicans affirmed their belief in “fidelity to the gospel and integrity of Christian life” and that it shaped Christianity down the centuries even at the cost of their suffering and martyrdom.

They noted that mission is rooted in and shaped by Biblical and historic Christian doctrine. Therefore, Anglican churches that depart from biblical and historic Christian doctrine sever themselves from their roots and compromise their witness and mission.

There is no turning back from "Anglican Realignment" and the future of the Anglican Church lies with orthodox Anglicans from the Global South and remnant North.

The Global South and GAFCON together are watching to see what the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Mother Church of England will do next. And so is VIRTUEONLINE.

As we enter this Easter season we hope you will find it in your hearts to lend us support for this ongoing vital ministry. We are on the cusp of new beginnings for the Anglican Communion even as the old dies and the new is being reborn out of the ashes of a once vibrant West. We look to the Global South for renewal, revival and reformation.

We at VOL are documenting all this for you, our readers, and we do it on a shoe string budget because we believe in what we are doing.

"Given that we continue to live in a period of confusion and sometimes misinformation regarding the tragic state of the Anglican Church as a result of the unilateral and non biblical decisions and actions of the North American church we are more grateful than ever for the clarity and relevance of VirtueOnline. We thank God for this important and faithful ministry to the worldwide communion." -- Gregory James Venables, Bishop of Argentina and Primate of the Anglican Church of South America.

Learn the Faith. Keep the Faith. Love the Faith. Live the Faith. Die fighting for the truth.
