Dear Friends and Supporters of VOL,

VIRTUEONLINE (www.virtueonline.org) has been a bulwark for orthodox Anglicanism for more than twenty years. We have seen it all, and you have been there right along with us as I have travelled the globe keeping you informed of events as they have unfolded. The weekly digest reaches thousands of people across the globe, and faithful Anglicans continued to be strengthened by mutual fellowship with each other, through the VOL community.

We are pleased to announce Virtueonline is working on the next stage as a news and commentary platform. The strength of Anglican orthodoxy has never been so great in the last few decades than at this very moment in history. The Communion is entering into a new stage of its development and growth, its very existence is changing and we want to be there right alongside everything that is going on. We want to bring you the latest news, the most relevant commentary, using the best new technologies and the latest social platforms. In short, we see an even greater vision for what Virtueonline can become in the next twenty years.

If you wonder what more VOL can do than it is now doing, the answer is: much more. We have not employed social media as we should have; this digest, for example, uses antiquated systems like email, but social media reaches more people through media like Facebook, Twitter, or Medium. The software behind this digest will be a lot better in helping you understand what you read, what you choose not to read, and how we can be more helpful to you. The website will also be updated.

Virtueonline will hopefully do better, and do more. At the same time, we need to trim back on things that work less, or don't bring much value to you, the reader.

This is the project we are now entering on. For the next six to eight weeks you will hear more exciting details and specifics.

In the meantime, I need to free up myself from various entanglements that create an incredible sink on my time. Pulling the weekly digests together, while valuable, will prove to be difficult during this time of transition. They reach less than 10% of our readership.

The weekly digests will cease for the next two months as we reconsider and restructure the way VOL’s content reaches you and our vast global audience. We will be looking carefully at all mechanisms and platforms. Sometime before the New Year you will hear from me on the next iteration of the Digest!

In the meantime, you can go directly to the website www.virtueonline.org for the latest news as it breaks. There is nothing in the digest that cannot be found on the website.

Meantime I pray that God keeps you faithful and hopeful, for the future has never looked brighter in our lifetimes than it does right now. The Anglican Communion is evolving for the good, and we will be there to report on it all for you.

David
