Elul has begun, and we've kicked off our annual study of topics in Teshuva
in preparation for the Yomim Noraim. Teshuva is the process of getting
closer to Hashem, of better listening to the longing of every soul to draw
near to its Creator.
Today's class introduced the Rambam's list of twenty-four aveiros (sins or
misdeeds) which deter or prevent a person from achieving Teshuva. From
this list, we are able to derive a similar list of activities that
expedite the Teshuva process. Wondering how you can ever do Teshuva for
the bad advice you gave someone five years ago? For the store clerk you
mistreated? For the candy bar you stole as a kid? Tune in and learn...
it's all part of the process of refining and improving our character.
