Intermittent slowness on NVIDIA GPU, using pixmap seems to fix

Hello,

I'm seeing a problem with NVIDIA driver 440.33.01 and VGL 2.6.2.

TurboVNC server is connecting to VirtualGL on the same machine, and VGL is delivering pbuffers to the XVNC server as expected. The desktop environment (mate) is running with the vglrun prefix so no special commands are required to use GPU acceleration.

However, rendering is intermittently very slow. The symptom _may_ be improved by setting VGL_DRAWABLE=pixmap, but my understanding is that either a driver supports pbuffers or not...and our driver almost certainly does.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips?

Thanks,
Quincy

Are you running into this issue?

Hi DRC
Can I just clarify, I was using this instruction here: https://virtualgl.org/Documentation/HeadlessNV to configure the HardDPMS option.
In that page it says to configure the option under Device *or* Screen section (so for our setup, I configure it under Device).
In https://github.com/VirtualGL/virtualgl/issues/120, you mentioned configuring the option under Device *and* Screen section, so can I get a clarification on that?

Probably at least that. I'll let you know if this doesn't fix the problem. Thanks for your time.
