From the latest projects WG: "Jamie has access to interns who are looking for things to do, Heather Leason will put him in contact with someone who needs help."

I need help!!!!!

We now have several tasks that have run over - mainly as a result of me creating a camp-sized set of tasks for Paris in anticipation of it being a work camp before finding out on the day that it was barcamp-style...  if you have resources free, then the urgent needs are:

1) Design help for the CDAC website (see http://groups.crisiscommons.org/cdacwebsite).  CDAC are coordinating NGO comms and information across Haiti.  Like us, they set up unexpectedly quickly when Haiti happened, and are now finding that the Ning site they created doesn't fit what their users need.  They need to port off Ning, and they need an overhaul of their site design.

** Advice on the best system to base this on.  I'm leaning towards Drupal because it is set up for communities and has lots of useful plugins and an active developer community if we need more of these, but I'd like to check that this is indeed a good choice.

** User experience help to create a cleaner website design.

** Drupal coders to help put the website together.

2) XSL help with the XML channelcode task (http://groups.crisiscommons.org/channelcodexml).

** If there are any experienced XSL coders out there who can lend an hour to go through the design on this one, I'd be grateful.

3) Design and telecomms specialist help for the CDAC radio website (http://groups.crisiscommons.org/cdacradio).

** Help in designing an alternative comms system to get the CDAC radio broadcast to people outside Port au Prince and available online too.

There are lots of other tasks that need doing - see Actionable Tasks and the active projects lists - but I would really appreciate some help with the 3 above if possible.

Thanks,

Hi Sara, i think Jamie was referring to interns going to Haiti to do on the ground work. Jamie, can you see below and let Sara (UK) know if you can connect. Sara,  I put a shout out to the Toronto volunteers to see if I can get you some help with those items

Ah well, if we're getting people on the ground, then one of the things that's needed for the CDAC tasks is a map of all the radio stations across Haiti (i,e. where they are and an estimate of their reception radii).  Do we have one of these anywhere?

Hi Sara, I don't know if Jamie has access to Internet or reading his email. So, I don't have any answer for you.

It's okay - I found one on the CDAC site. Hopefully they can do most of what's needed by phone.
