When I connect a VC21 board using Hyperterminal, it is supposed to
react to the ENTER key. That seems not to work, but by using reset it
usually starts fine.

Now I am trying to reflash a VC21 board and have uploaded the
ramtst.bin. After loading this, using the HAB toolkit, I must now
switch the USB over to Hyperterminal and make a connection.
Hyperterminal acknowledges the connection but it does not again react
to ENTER. Here I cannot use reset, since the program is supposed to
run from RAM already.

What can I do to get the board to react to the Hyperterminal
connection. I do not seem to be able to start the ramtst.bin program
from RAM this way. It seems like switching over from the HAB toolkit's
serial connection to the Hyperterminal creates a stall condition which
the VC21 board is not able to recover from.

Problem solved. I forgot that the autostart module will still be found
by the RAM version of uMon.
So an erase of the flash is required to clear this situation.
After having done so, it all works fine.
The problem with ENTER remains but a reset works equally well.

Peter,

The LEDs should come on briefly and then turn off - this indicates that
the bootloader is active. If this is the case, I'm not sure why the
board doesn't respond to any key presses.
