Dear Fatma,
As there are a lot of people joining this BioHackathon, we are trying a bottom-up approach. We aim to have group leaders/facilitators by next week. Depending on how big a group /topic is, the leader/facilitator could suggest and agree with participants to split into smaller groups. Some topics/groups have been already created, some more could still be proposed. Please check both slack and github repo
Commonly, for the same topic there are multiple projects. This time however, it could be that one big project with multiple modules is defined, in order to maximize impact. That said, side projects are always possible, and even if not everybody is working on the same project, the idea is that everybody can benefit from the experience and expertise of others working on the overall topic. Does it make sense?
You mention 50 people, as we have the full slack version there should be no problem. I do not think we have any other such a large group coming from the same institute. Do you maybe have or want to propose a project/topic targetting the pandemic in Turkey? It not, then I would suggest for each of the participants willing to join, to have a look around and see where they would like to contribute.
Regards,
