$21.9 billion. That’s Wells Fargo’s profit for 2013.
It’s their most ever. And it’s coming off the backs of
foreclosure victims and underwater homeowners like you
and me. My name is Yolanda Andrews and Wells Fargo
bankers are trying to steal my home.
Here’s my
story: I bought my house in Newark, NJ in 2004, but when
the Wall Street bankers destroyed our economy, it ended
up severely underwater, I lost my second job and despite
the steady full-time jobs I and my husband continued to
hold, we needed a loan modification.
Like many of you, we got months and months of
runaround, just to be offered a trial modification,
which we completed successfully in May of 2012. Then for
6 months we heard nothing AND Wells Fargo REFUSED to
accept our mortgage payments. Finally we got a permanent
modification, For $49 less than the original payment!
Unbelievable
Wells Fargo had added all the
payments they refused to accept from us onto the
mortgage principal and then gave us a meaningless
modification! The years-long stress of dealing with
Wells Fargo affected my health to the point where I can
only work sporadically, making it even harder to make
payments. Earlier this year, Wells Fargo fulfilled my
worst nightmare by filing for foreclosure on our
home.
That’s
why I’m joining with Home Defenders across the country
to stand up to Wells Fargo’s CEO John Stumpf and demand
the bank end foreclosures and work to keep families like
mine in our homes. Stand with me here. http://www.homedefendersleague.org/stop_wells_fargo
On
April 29th, this coming Tuesday, I’ll be in San Antonio,
TX at Wells Fargo’s annual shareholders meeting to tell
Mr. Stumpf directly that the bank, which is making
record profits off of people like me, needs to do the
right thing and work to keep us in our homes. We're
going to foreclose on this shareholders
meeting!
I’ll be joined by dozens of other
activists in Texas, while folks around the country visit
Wells Fargo offices to tell them the same thing on the
28th and 29th. You can see if there’s a visit happening
near you, by
clicking this link and searching for your zip
code. There are at least a dozen visits
happening.
It’s
time John Stumpf had to deal directly with the people he
and his bank are destroying the lives of. Stand with us
here so your voice can be raised with mine when I
confront Mr. Stumpf on April
29th.
