Webcast: Tracking Bacteria in Storm Water Runoff During Dry & Wet Weather – September 23, 2021 (2pm) -- This free webcast will discuss tools to identify human-specific sources of fecal pollution.  These tools aim to provide >1,000 times the public health protection at less than 1/100th of total cost compared to cumulatively treating non-point sources of urban runoff. 9.) Benefit Gala: Party on the Pier – September 25, 2021 – Washington, DC (Dockmaster Building District Pier at The Wharf) – This event will be held outdoors under tents. Tour the Potomac Riverkeeper Network’s research vessel, MV Sea Dog, and its water quality monitoring lab. There will be music, dancing, and more.  Learn about a new freshwater mussel nursery. Public Hearings - Virginia Water Protection Permit: Mountain Valley Pipeline -- The project is a 42-inch natural gas pipeline located along an approximate 107-mile-long corridor from the Virginia-West Virginia state line in Giles County southeast through Craig County, Montgomery County, Roanoke County, Franklin County, and Pittsylvania County to the Transco Village (located approximately three miles east of Chatham, Virginia). Request for Proposals (RFP): Potomac Coastal Plain Stream Mitigation – Submission Deadline: October 31, 2021 -- The purpose of the project(s) is to provide stream mitigation to offset unavoidable impacts for which the Virginia Aquatic Resources Trust Fund (VARTF) was utilized as the compensatory mitigation.  Seeking projects that will deliver 10,000 USM STREAM credits that can service the Potomac River Basin Hydrologic Unit Codes (HUCs) 02070011 or 02070010 in the Coastal Plain geographic service area.  Will also consider lump sum purchase of stream credits from an approved mitigation bank or banks.
