1.) Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s (ACB’s) The Taste: Celebrate 50 Years (Virtual) – September 23, 2021 – This fundraiser supports the work of the ACB. Learn about the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the Alliance’s programs, and its progress towards Chesapeake restoration. This year will feature Lee Failing as keynote speaker. All attendees will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win $100 in Giant Foods gift cards and an Alliance gear kit. Clean Water Training Certificate Program: Instructor Preparation (Virtual) – January 11, 12, and 13, 2022 (1-5pm) – This program will permit qualified candidates to become outsourced instructors for the Center for Watershed Protection’s Clean Water Certificate Training Program. 12.) Watershed Education Series for Virginia Teachers -- This free professional development training will be in line with Virginia Standards of Learning for middle school teachers. It can also apply to teachers outside of middle school. It will focus on the connections of ecological, social, and economic systems. The series will include live webinars throughout the 2021-2022 academic year to address: Watershed structure and function, Water pollution, Biodiversity, Environmental justice, and Civic action. Report: National Coastal Condition Assessment (NCAA) 2015 Report – Released: August 17, 2021 -- The NCCA reports on the health of estuarine and Great Lakes nearshore waters nationally as well as for four regional estuarine areas (the Northeast, Southeast, Gulf of Mexico, and the West Coast) and each of the Great Lakes separately.
