Course: Footprints on the James (VCU ENVS 491 and BIOL 391)

Virtual Information Sessions (6pm): January 21 and February 4, 2026;
Expedition: May 18-June 18, 2026 -- This course allows undergraduates to live outdoors and travel by canoe, bateau, raft, and sea kayak. Students will conduct hands-on field research techniques and explore the human history of the James River from indigenous
settlements to the present day. The
course is open to non-VCU students through the VCU
Summer Studies.

(1-3pm) -- Ashburn, VA -- Attendees will be guided through an easy method for sowing vegetables and pollinator-friendly native perennials in milk jugs this winter. Participants will set up their own mini greenhouse to take home and take a short walk to explore
