Webinar: Operationalizing Equity for Integrated Water Resources – TODAY-- November 18, 2021 (12:30-1:30pm) – This webinar focuses on equity relative to dimensions of distribution, procedure, and recognition and identify metrics associated with each, then maps these dimensions of equity to different stages of a water resources project life cycle, and highlights case studies illustrating best practices. ++ Volunteer Riparian Tree Plantings – December 4, 7, 11, and 16. 2021 – Albemarle County -- All tools and instruction will be provided and you will be working alongside JRA staff. All ages are welcome, but youth under age 18 should have a parent or guardian present, and participants will need to be comfortable being outside for several hours, traverse uneven ground, and handle a good amount of walking. ++ JRA 2021 State of the James Report -- This biennial report card examines the status and trends of eighteen separate indicators across two categories, River Health and River Restoration Progress. The overall health of the river has received a grade “B-” with a score of 61%. Although the grade for the James has remained in the B- range since 2015, the overall score dropped one point from 2019 and two points since the recent high of 63%. Turning a New Leaf Conference (Virtual & In-person) -- December 8-10, 2021 – Live field events in MD, PA and VA -- This year’s event will highlight collaborations that normalize sustainable practices and ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. 7.) Webinar: Virginia Stormwater & Litter Workshop – December 9, 2021 (10am-3pm) -- This one-day workshop is for stormwater and litter-prevention professionals. The workshop will address urban trash pollution and strategies employed to intercept a piece of trash before it becomes part of stormwater runoff and is conveyed to and through the storm sewer system.
