International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) October 2021-November 2021 -- Volunteers remove litter and debris, and recycle found items along the shorelines of Virginia’s rivers, lakes, bays, beaches, and inland.  Volunteers complete Data Cards or use the CleanSwell app to collect information about the amounts and types of litter and debris found.  Find planned clean-up events across Virginia at http://www.longwood.edu/cleanva/cleanupevents2021.html. 4.) 2021 Drinking Water Clinics -- Anyone with a private water supply system (including wells, springs, and cisterns) may participate. Drinking water clinics are organized by local Extension Agents and Virginia Tech faculty in the Biological Systems Engineering Department. Contact your local Extension office to express interest in a clinic. Request for Proposals: Chesapeake Bay Trust Regional Capacity Building Network Evaluation and Training Contractual Services – Submission Deadline: October 29, 2021 -- Soliciting services to evaluate and train regional networks and develop a community of practice to increase network sustainability in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network (CBFN) as part of the Capacity Building Initiative. The work to be supported will advance outcomes from the Chesapeake Bay Agreement. Virginia Partners in the Shenandoah Valley will develop a cross-sector network of organizations to integrate water quality with multiple issues and actions and integrate equity and justice into the region’s strategies to meet Bay restoration goals, protect the Valley’s extraordinary natural resources, and improve the quality of life for all residents.
