Turkish Airlines cancellation, Fees, and Refund process
Booking a flight is always exciting, but plans can change unexpectedly. If you need to cancel your Turkish Airlines flight, this straightforward guide covers everything you need to know. We'll break down the key details in simple language with helpful examples, so you know exactly what to expect.
Turkish Airlines offers refunds and flight credits if you cancel more than 24 hours before departure, minus a small cancellation fee. Within 24 hours, only a flight credit is given.
If life throws a curveball, Turkish Airlines will rebook you on the next available flight free of charge. Airlines can’t control unexpected events, but Turkish aims to get you where you need to be with minimum hassle.
Turkish Airlines cancellation fees
If you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled departure time, a 60 Euro cancellation fee applies per passenger. Within 24 hours of departure, cancellations no longer qualify for refunds; only a flight credit is given.
The value left from your originally purchased fare after the 60 Euro fee is deducted will be kept as a credit on Turkish Airlines. You have up to a year to redeem this credit on a future flight booking.
Example:
You paid 300 euros for your original ticket. If you cancel 48 hours before departure, you pay a 60 Euro cancellation penalty. The remaining 240 euros are held as flight credit to use on your next booking within 12 months.
Turkish Airlines: Date Changes
If your schedule changes but you still plan to take your trip, Turkish Airlines offers a one-time free date change on international flights. You simply pay any differences in airfare for your new travel dates.
This perk provides flexibility if you need to move your dates but still use the booking you originally purchased from Turkish Airlines.
