Hello its me again :). Can you tell me the Virgil production profile, meaning recomendations for it the good the bad, how is managed the security layer authnetication and authorization (isolating 'get' to read-only,restricting the put, post , delete operations with http auth headers to conform the REST architecture) maybe implementing restrictions in the code (using basic cassandra auth for example). I would appreciate very much any information given on how that can be accomplished because it seem reasonable to use it with triggers. I plan to use it with javascript as front end and perform operations logic server-side.

I'm eager to see what your cooking. =)

I'd recommend deploying Virgil 1:1 w/ Cassandra, one instance per node in the ring.  Then you can load balance requests across those Virgil instances.  Virgil does not have native security capabilities.   To add security, I would front the Virgil instances with Apache web server and lock down requests at that level.

Definitely keep us updated, and let us know if we can help at all.

From hell`s kitchen :) the story so far... I have readed so many articles, comments, approaches, architectures, configurations, design styles  (both for ES and Cassandra and god knows what) Almost 9 moths now that almost melt my miserable brain. Readed around 12 books  in various topics and i can say that just tuned my compass to have idea from where the boat comes. I am not spectacular programmer (which makes me double my effort when i am working on something). Relatively new to Java but a decent understanding for most computer concepts. I work alone (i don`t have the money nor the people who can help because here are not so dedicated for new technologies (and that would require even more money) and for that reason the progress is somewhat slow. I am on closer watch for Cassandra from 0.6 version and close watch for ES (still new but understand well the concepts of Lucene) and i could say they have feature together. As for the Virgil i haven`t compare the speed against cql but i think rest layer will benefit at some point in time if done right (cant i ask will speed things little if org.json is replaced by Jackson or its wanted the dependencies keeped at minimum) . thats for now i have 3-4 months to implement the project lets say a month i alpha and buy the hardware install it and so forth. keep fingers crossed :)
