ImportantDeleting photos and videos from the Google Photos app deletes the same items from your device. If these items are backed up, the same content will be deleted on all devices with backup turned on. Learn how to remove backed up photos & videos from Google Photos but not your device.

Trying to start fresh after factory reset I don't want old photos on device phone gallery app I rather have old photos that are backed up on Dropbox cloud storage and keep phone gallery free for new photos not photos that are backed up on device

When you take a picture, it takes up some of your phone's storage space indeed. However, if you upload the content into your Dropbox, and then delete it off of your camera roll, then the picture would only take up some of your Dropbox storage.

Deleting files from the wiki can only be done by admins (and maybe content mods). If you are not an admin, you will need to ask one to delete it for you. If you are an admin, then you can delete the image the same way you would any other page. Go the the file page (for example, File:Example.png), click the edit drop-down, click "delete". In the future, you can simply upload a new version of the image to the same name. When you do this, the new image will overwrite the old one and update automatically wherever the old image was used.

As for removing from galleries, the gallery builder should provide an option to remove images. Hover over the image in the preview section. In the top right of the image, there should appear a "delete" option.

For future reference, if it has been a month or two since the conclusion or abandonment of the original discussion, it is considered proper etiquette to just start a new thread unless you are one of the original participants attempting to restart the original discussion. In addition, this thread was started within a month of Fandom's release of its new platform. As such, a lot has changed since then and previous and new answers may be different, even for the same issue, simply because the software has changed.

To quickly answer your question in case you are still looking for an answer (or others find this thread at a later date), there are several ways to remove images from a gallery depending on how you are editing the page.

While viewing a normal gallery on a page in desktop view, there may be an Add a photo to this gallery button at the bottom of the gallery. If so, click that button and a pop-up should appear allowing you to edit the gallery. The pop-up should open to the Layout tab by default but, if it doesn't, just open that tab manually by clicking it at the top of the pop-up. In that tab, there should be the Gallery preview section showing the images currently in the gallery. Hover your mouse over the image you wish to delete and two options should appear in the top-right corner of the image; modify and delete. Click delete.

If you are editing the page using VisualEditor's visual mode (the default editor for new users when using desktop view), click on the gallery and it should get selected (i.e. grayed-out). When this happens, you should see a pop-up box appear in the top-right corner of the gallery with and Edit button. Click that button and the Gallery pop-up should appear. On the right of this pop-up should be a In the Gallery section showing the various images currently in the gallery. Near the bottom of each image in this section, there should be two circular buttons. The one of the left should have an X. Click that button to remove the associated image.

If you are using MobileVisualEditor's visual mode (the default editor for new users when using mobile view), either double click the gallery or click the gallery once and then click the pencil icon at the right side of the Gallery banner that appears. This should display a text box with all of the image currently in the gallery listed in order; each on its own line. Find the image you want to remove and delete its line. Then click Done to go back to editing the rest of the page.

If you are using any other editing mode, it is almost certainly some sort of source mode. In source mode, the gallery can be identified by gallery tags and the images are specified in order; each on its own line. For example:

Find the gallery you want to remove an image from and find the line for the image you want to remove. Delete the line associated with that image and continue editing if there are other thing you want to change. Be sure to save when all your edits are done.

Removing an image from a wiki rather than just a gallery or a page requires at least content mod permissions. If you do not have these permissions, then you will need to ask a user who does. A user with these permissions can go to the file page and delete it like they would any other page. The image will then be removed from the wiki.

However, the image will remain on Fandom's image servers and can be restored to the wiki if an admin/mod decides to do so later. If you want the image removed from the image servers and not just the wiki, then you need to contact Fandom. Fandom will review the image and remove it if they decide it is necessary/appropriate to do so; usually for violating the Terms of Use.

@kparvanova - it sounds like the Gallery is no longer indexing properly, so you are not seeing an updated version with the workflows deleted. To confirm, please reach out to our Customer Support team who can assist in resolving the issue.

Kparvanova...did you get this fixed? I had a similar situation...but only 1 workflow, and my understanding was that, as Sophia mentioned, an indexing issue. It's not a top priority so I haven't followed up, but when speaking with support, I think they mentioned I would need to go to the MongoDB.

Hello @ljenkins I'm sorry you're having trouble with your image gallery. Are you able to go back into your gallery, and click on the image, or thumbnail? Check and see if you have any options that come up to delete that particular image. You can also check out this info here to see if it helps to answer your question.

Great questions @ljenkins . I do not believe it is possible to delete an image at this time. I have needed the feature too. Sometimes I upload an image that doesn't work well with Square's aspect ratios (square, haha). So I will upload a new one. But the old one is still there, and I may accidentally select it. Oops, wrong one.

I agree, I need to be able to delete old photos. I sell unique handmade items, so each variation of an item has a photo. When I sell that one I need to delete the photo so I know it's not available anymore.

Having this problem with my new a54.

I restored all my photos and videos to this a54 through smart switch from a backup I had from my old a51. Around 1000 videos and photos had lost their date and time data, but when i try to move them to albums to organise them, they aren't removed from the gallery. So i end up with 1000 random videos and photos from years apart all on the same date and time.

How do I delete projects in my rendering gallery. I have dozens of projects that I want to delete as it making it almost impossible to find the prpojects I want to keep the renderings for. I want to delete the renderings and the project entirley. I'm not sure why such a fundamental option is not available or if it is why its so hidden.

Sorry, so far there's no way to delete the whole projects in my rendering gallery. I think your suggestion is reasonable, I am passing on this to our product designers. We will try to improve this in the future.

Is this still the case? As someone tasked with troubleshooting problems for a company I have tons of "test" projects. Once a gallery is created I have no way of deleting them? How could this be overlooked?
