Fora good three minutes, I swallowed the notion that Mercurio had swaggered onto BBC One with the biggest drama since sliced bread, then casually disposed of both leads midway through the run, shrugging and flicking them away like a lit fag end into a trail of petrol. The target of the attacks and lynchpin of the political conspiracy: who needs her? The actual bodyguard from the show Bodyguard: move along, son.

(A Mercurio thriller distilled to its basic essence would be sixty silent minutes of characters staring wordlessly from one to the other through a venetian blind. And you know what? Ten million of us would still watch and be riveted.)

Alvin learns that a celebrity was protected by bodyguards from a rush of fans though when he asks Dave if he can have one during a frustrated recording session he's denied. He vents to Theodore who mistakenly states he'd be Alvin's bodyguard if he could. Alvin thinks that's a great idea, convinced that looking the part is all that matters. Dressed in a black suit, Theodore begins learning how to be a bodyguard from DVDs Alvin provides. He walks point as they travel home and tests Alvin's afternoon snack, eating it all. In the boys' room, Brittany zip-lines in to confront Alvin about her hair dryer. Theodore tries to protect Alvin but determines he needs backup so he enlists Kevin and Cheesy to defend Alvin with him. Theodore trains them before granting them their bodyguard gear. Simon convinces Dave the bodyguard stuff needs to stop because of Theodore's grades. Alvin overhears and has a guy pretend to want to hurt him; unfortunately Theodore is knocked out when Kevin and Cheesy trample him. Once Theo wakes up, Alvin explains to Dave that Theodore saved him from a crazy fan. Theodore spots the man later that night before binding and hanging him in a tree. The man confesses that Alvin hired him and didn't pay, leaving just an autograph. He reveals Alvin's autograph is worthless and Theo's is the valuable one, leading Theodore to argue Alvin should be his bodyguard.

He was skilled in kenjutsu and strong enough to handle the Kubikiribōchō with ease, cutting Suigetsu down with one slash. He could also break through a wall with sheer power. Suigetsu noted his envy about that the bodyguard could use the Kubikiribōchō without special training and with brute strength alone.

Sasuke Uchiha and Suigetsu Hōzuki confronted Tenzen at his castle to obtain the Kubikiribōchō which he claimed at Zabuza's grave when he was originally after Zabuza. Tenzen gave the sword to his strongest henchmen and made him his bodyguard. Tenzen's bodyguard crashed through the wall and slashes Suigetsu with Zabuza's sword but is shocked to see that Suigetsu had survived the slashes due to his unique body. Suigetsu increases the size of his arm and grabs the sword, tossing Tenzen's bodyguard out of the hole in the wall.
